I am a registered dietitian. That means that I graduated with a nutrition degree, completed over 900 hours of pre-professional experience and passed the RD exam. I have studied everything from organic chemistry to medical nutrition therapy to food preparation. I am qualified to order a tube-feeding in a hospital, provide nutritional counseling for someone with diabetes, lead a school field trip through a grocery store, and that’s just the start of it. I have worked in several different settings from the hospital to the gym. In all of this, I have found that my passion lies in inspiring people to simply live a healthy lifestyle. Eat real food. Exercise. Try new things. Cook with your family. Read ingredient lists. Understand nutrition labels. Know what is going into your body.
My new blog title “Inspired RD” reflects the inspiration I find in my passion as a dietitian. YOU inspire me.
So I will do my best to inspire you to make healthy choices, and I will give you the tools to help you do it. I will continue to post simple recipes and photos from our co-op haul each week. I will also be adding a couple of new features. Look out for side-by-side comparisons of some of your grocery store staples, as well as “Flickr Fridays” where I will post inspiring photos from my new Flickr group. Please join the group and start posting!
Thank you for inspiring me to inspire you!
