A Crooked Thanksgiving

I hope that you all had a marvelous Thanksgiving.  Mine was supposed to start with a 5k race, but because I apparently don’t know how to sleep without injuring my neck, I was unable to run.  I spent all day with my head tilted to the right, but at least I could still eat!  My parents (Grandma & Grandpa) came over and we grilled, baked, boiled and dutch ovened our way through the day.
While Grandpa was preparing the bird, Joe asked, “What is that giant chicken for?”
Grandpa and Joe made some macadamia nut bread in the dutch oven.
It turned out beautifully doughy and sweet.
The other dutch oven was filled by Jeff with an apple pomegranate cobbler.
The kids had fun playing in the backyard.  Can you tell we had a chilly 65° day in Tucson?
My mom and I wore almost the same outfit although she clearly wins with cuter boots.
Our centerpiece was lovingly handmade by Joe.
The table was full of yummy food including this root vegetable mash with roasted garlic.
Leila liked The Pioneer Woman’s cranberry-pomegranate sauce the best.
How was your Thanksgiving?
