I hope you all had a wonderful Father’s Day! The kids and I started off our celebration by letting Daddy sleep in and making him eggs in a frame for breakfast.
Lately, every time I start to cook something, these kids are pulling up a chair asking to help. I love it
every time most of the time.
If you have never made eggs in a frame before, it is a simple breakfast recipe that is great for kids. Start by taking a piece of bread and a clean drinking glass. Press the top of the glass into the middle of the bread to cut a hole.
Pull the circle out, but don’t throw it away. You can put it in the pan and cook it up as toast to go on the side.
Crack an egg into the open circle in a pan over medium-high heat. See how the bread is now framing the egg? Cook for 1-2 minutes then flip and continue cooking until the egg is cooked to your liking.
Little ones can help out with side tasks such as getting bacon or fruit ready.
We served our eggs in a frame with a slice of smoked gouda cheese on top and a side of bacon, orange slices and raspberry bars (made by my mom).
Daddy enjoyed his breakfast in bed, and the kids were proud of their cooking skills.
Here are a few photos from the rest of our day…
