Slow Roasted Roma Tomatoes

I’ve been feeling a bit overwhelmed lately.  Overwhelmed in a good way, with many fun and rewarding opportunities coming my way, but stressed nonetheless.  Even though I am not the most organized person (I think I just heard my husband snort at that)…ok, I am the owner of multiple piles in our house…anyways, too much disorganization sends my stress level into overdrive.  Thankfully yesterday was Sunday, the perfect day to…

A Fund for Jennie – Place your bid!

Bidding is now closed! Thank you to April who was the winning bidder with $275. Thank you too all who participated! I’m pretty sure I had never visited Jennifer Perillo’s blog before August 8th.  I had been following her on Twitter for a while, but hadn’t yet made it over to read her food writing.  The morning of August 8th however, I read a chilling tweet from her feed…

A minor setback, and a clean kitchen

Last weekend was a busy one. We had friends visiting, lots of swimming, and a few meals eaten away from home.  While I was careful to specify my diet restrictions to the restaurant staff, I still managed to get sick.  I ended up with a bloated tummy, fatigue and other symptoms that I had managed to keep away for the first two weeks of my celiac adventure.  Last night I…

When I found out the theme of this…

After picking up a few loaves of gluten-free bread at the grocery store (and quickly putting them back…

Snack Plate Lunch

I’ve never been a big sandwich person.  Not that I don’t enjoy a good sandwich, but I don’t want to eat one every day.  And salads are great, but they can get old after a while too.  Every once in a while, I just want a good snack plate for lunch.  Fresh veggies, fresh fruit, a little cheese, some nuts and crackers, and I’m good to go. I like to…

My first stab at Photoshop

Remember how I got a fancy camera last month?  Well, I have been having so much fun learning how to use it.  There is a LOT to learn, and I have barely scratched the surface of photography education.  One thing that I have been excited to start using is Photoshop.  I finally downloaded it yesterday, and was instantly overwhelmed with the complexity of the program.  Thankfully, there are many tutorials…
