It’s Official – I have Celiac Disease

The doctor called today with the results of my biopsy.  I have been officially diagnosed with Celiac Disease. After sharing the news with my family, I put it out on Twitter.  People seemed to be torn between saying “Congratulations!” and saying “I’m sorry.”  Let me just say that there is no reason to feel bad.  This is a time to celebrate!  I have already gone almost a week eating gluten-free…

Dressed for Success

Going Gluten-Free: Where do I start?

Yesterday morning I had my upper endoscopy.  Although the procedure itself is pretty easy on the body, the anaesthesia medication knocked me out all day.  I have absolutely no memory of getting dressed, getting in the car, drinking a milkshake and getting into bed.  Apparently I was chatting with the doctor and giving goofy grins to my friends and family until I passed out at home.  I spent most of the…
