The final day of baseball, and a giveaway!

TEA brand clothing

This past week was a very exciting one for us.  Even though the minor league offseason began in September, Jeff coached through October in the instructional league.  For those of you not familiar with minor league baseball, the instructional league is a chance for new draft picks and top prospects to get more work in at the end of the season.  Games are played every day on practice fields without fans or music or even hot dogs (gasp!).

Arizona Diamondbacks Chase FieldThe final game however was played at Chase Field, the home of the Arizona Diamondbacks.  It was a fun way for the young players to end the season, and Joe and Leila enjoyed having the place all to themselves.  In a stadium that can hold over 48,000 people, there were probably only about 50 on hand for the game (most of them front office staff and upper management).

Fun at Chase FieldAlthough there still wasn’t a crowd or hot dogs or beer guys, the atmosphere was exciting.   And we had fun watching Jeff do his mound visits.

Arizona Diamondbacks Chase Field Joe and Leila also had a chance to wear their new clothing from TEA.  The new duds were definitely put to the test that day with lots of climbing, swinging, and all of the other things that ushers usually tell you not to do at baseball games.

When the game was over, we snuck onto the field for a few minutes.  After a quick trip around the bases and a mound visit of our own, it was time for the kids and me to head home and prepare the driveway for Jeff’s offseason parking spot.

Goodbye baseball.  See you in March.

Chase Field Arizona DiamondbacksThe kids chalked up the driveway, and their new clothes.

Joe practiced his letters and managed to get chalk all over his face and pants.

Leila just got dirty.  Really dirty.

When she finished drawing, she filled her pockets with rocks.

Such a dainty girl.

We’re so excited to have Jeff home until spring training.  Let the real offseason begin!

More about Tea clothing: Tea has been around since 2002 and designs clothes for kids ages 0-12. They also recently started a line for women.  All of their designs are inspired by travel and exploring different cultures.  This season’s clothing is inspired by modern Mexico.

I appreciate the modern designs, vivid colors and outstanding quality of Tea clothing.  The material is comfortable for the kids, and it washes and holds up well.  Joe liked his shirt and pants so well that he didn’t want to take them off that night and insisted that I washed them quickly so that he could wear them again.

Would you like a chance to win a $100 gift card to Tea?  I thought so.

First off, just love all your baseball posts but despite our teams’ seasons endings this year, glad you have your hubby and dad back at home for awhile.

Secondly, I love love Tea clothing for my daughter – have received a few gifts and hand-me-downs over the years – just love the style and durability. How to pick one thing – if I was practical, I’d pick the cute pjs. Otherwise any of the dresses ore the adorable Fiesta Flores top.

  • Serena October 26, 2011 at 7:16 pm

These baseball posts are the best! And the B&W photo of your family is gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!
Now, I have 3 small kids but have somehow missed Tea clothing here in the midwest! Thanks for enlightening this Chicago-an!! The clothes are adorable! Guess I’d pick the Matilde Flores Dress…or maybe Talavera Layered Dress??
