Thankful Thursdays: Week 19

Ok, so this has nothing to do with celiac disease or gluten of any kind.

Today I am thankful for this post from Hands Free Mama. Feel free to read it and come back. The post was a needed reminder that I spend too much time looking at the face of my phone and not enough time looking at the faces of my family.

As much as I try to remind myself to put down the dang phone, I know I need to do a better job.

Because they matter more.

Making my own career through blogging, consulting, and doing pretty much everything on a computer or the phone means that the line between work and personal life becomes blurred quite easily.

Today I commit to setting better boundaries.  I have three work times throughout the day: early morning before the kids are up (after my quiet time), nap time, and if needed a little work at night after the kids go to bed.  I commit to not carrying my phone everywhere I go throughout the day.  I also commit to buying an alarm clock so that I can charge my phone outside of the bedroom.  That will keep me from checking email, Facebook, Twitter, etc. before even getting out of bed in the morning (horrible habit).

I’m doing this for my kids, I’m doing this for my husband, and I’m doing this for me.

If you want to do it too, let me know in the comments.  I would love to hear what you think about it.
