Summer Days & Summer Nights

Have I mentioned that it’s hot here?  Blazing hot.  Every day.  All day.

Hot.

If you aren’t sitting in a pool of water, you shouldn’t go outside.  Someone asked me the other day what the temperature was here.  Honestly, when summer gets here, I stop checking the weather.  It will be anywhere from 110-115 during the day and 90-100 at night.  So our summer days look like this.

And this.

While those of you up north get snowed in in the winter months, we spend our summers trying to come up with indoor activities.  Right now, we are playing the heck out of our new game of aggravation (thank you to my instagram followers who corrected me on the name of the game).  The board was handmade by my father-in-law and has Chinese Checkers on the backside.  Joe is getting really good and beats me almost every time.

Now that the Arizona League has officially started, we are spending our nights at the ballpark.

I can’t tell you how much I enjoy sitting at baseball games every night in the summer.  Even though it’s crazy hot, there’s just something about baseball that soothes my soul.  Plus, I get to see the hubs in his baseball pants, always a plus.

The kids have a blast too, having the run of the place.  Last night Leila brought her baby doll.  Isn’t she pretty?  (anyone else reminded of the baby from Toy Story?)

My sister also came last night which is the biggest treat of all.  She lives in Texas, so I don’t get to see her very often.

After the games, Hobbs and I attempt to stay awake until Jeff gets home.  We don’t always make it.

If you live in the area, come out and hang with me during a game one night.  All AZL games are free and open to the public.  If you come to Salt River Fields, make sure to bring a lawn chair!

So now you know our summer days and summer nights.  What do yours look like?

Those are beautiful ways to spend hot summer days and nights. I love the baby doll…..so cute!

Here in MN we take walks around the many lakes, hike, water parks. Today is a gorgeous 78 and so so sunny with a slight breeze. My son and I were on the deck reading and napping. 🙂

Your summer looks awesome! And I LOVE the baby with the cross bone stickers! AWESOME!!! Summer in the midwest is great, it really comes alive after the hibernation. Runs, markets, lake…oh yea!

We have broken 100 degrees here in Austin, TX. It’s extra humid this summer and there are crickets everywhere. I’m heading into my sixth summer here. I’m orginally from the Midwest and am familiar with cabin fever in the winter. Summers are definitely the hardest season for my spirits since we have moved to Austin. Can’t wait for November!
