When there are no words…

When you don't know how to pray, it's ok. "If we don't know how or what to pray, it doesn't matter. He (the Holy Spirit) does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans." (Romans 8:26 MSG)

I don’t know what to say about Friday.  I know I’m having trouble thinking of much else.  Looking into my kids’ eyes, seeing Joe’s kindergarten class in my mind, hearing giggles from the next room…it all hits so close to home.  I have no words.  Only sighs, groans, tears.

If you’re struggling to find the right words, take heart in this: “If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He (the Holy Spirit) does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans.” (Romans 8:26 MSG) He’s got you covered.

Tomorrow I will be participating in a social media day of silence along with hundreds, maybe thousands of other bloggers across the country.  If you would like to know more, or participate yourself, please leave a comment with your email address and I will forward on the information.

Peace be with you.
