Dietitians for Professional Integrity – 22,000 signatures strong and a new website!

by inspiredrd on September 11, 2013

Remember when I asked you to sign an important petition to stop junk food companies from taking over nutrition programs?  Well, you supported us in a big way.

Thank you.

At this point, we have over 22,000 signatures and the backing of important food politics experts such as Mark Bittman, Michele Simon and Marion Nestle.

Today, we launch our new website IntegrityDietitians.org.  (We tried to get the domain name IntegrityRDs.com, but the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics bought it first.  Draw your own conclusions about that.  Ahem.)

On our new site, you can learn more about who we are, get educated about the issuesread statements of concern from 35 dietitians (and submit your own), find out about industry front groups, and show your support.

Dietitians for Professional Integrity

When I posted my original statement of concern, I anticipated some negative reactions, and I got them.  But overwhelmingly our efforts have been supported by colleagues and consumers (and YOU!).

Thank you for your encouragement and support so far.  Our momentum is building, and we are determined to see change happen!

Please sign and share our petition if you haven’t done so already, and go check out the new website!
