Pretties from Stitch Fix

What do you get in a Stitch Fix box?

A few people have asked me about Stitch Fix lately, so I thought I would show you what I got in my most recent box.  If you’ve never heard of Stitch Fix, it’s a personal styling service through the mail.  You fill in your size and preferences, and they send you clothes to try on!  Simply decide what to keep, and send the rest back in a pre-paid Priority Mail envelope.  I’ve had four fixes now, and because you get to leave detailed feedback with each one, they get better each time.  They even have a link to my Pinterest style board so the stylists can get a better sense of what I like.

So anyways…here’s what I got last week.
Pretties from Stitch Fix

Chris & Carol Striped Knit Top – This was cute, but a little big in the sleeves and I was afraid it would get snagged on things too easily.  Verdict: SEND BACK

41Hawthorn Sleeveless Chiffon Dress – I wasn’t crazy about the style of this one.  Not very flattering.  Verdict: SEND BACK

Tea N Rose Hi-Lo Sheer Back Tank – This was super cute, but the back was just a bit too long and hit me in an odd spot.  Verdict: SEND BACK

Kut from the Kloth Sheer Beaded Detail Blouse – I absolutely love this top.  A flattering fit, a fun boho vibe, and the perfect color.  Verdict: KEEP

Miilla Pin Tuck Button-Up Tunic – A beautiful color, and a versatile style.  This will look great with skinny jeans or legging.  Verdict: KEEP

If you’ve seen other bloggers review Stitch Fix boxes, you might notice mine didn’t have jewelry.  That’s the beauty of Stitch Fix.  You can customize your box however you want.  I know I most likely won’t spend money on new jewelry, so I always ask them to send me 5 pieces of clothing instead of 4 pieces of clothing and 1 piece of jewelry.  They also know I live in Arizona, so I don’t get any wool sweaters or parkas or whatever people wear in the cold states.

This is NOT an advertisement for Stitch Fix.  They didn’t give me anything to do a blog post (although if you sign up through my referral link, I will get credit, as will you when you refer someone).  I just thought it was fun and wanted to share.

EDIT: I realized I didn’t put any prices on here.  You can set your own price preferences, but my boxes usually range from $30-$68 per piece.  Thanks to referral credit, I usually wait and save up enough that I will be able to get at least one item with credit.  With this box I ended up spending $12 of my own (the rest was credit).

Have you tried Stitch Fix before?

Love the colors they sent you. And I was under the impression it was much more expensive. Hmmm…one day! Also…good “keeps” 😉

Well, it’s expensive to me when I used to avoid spending more than $10 on any piece of clothing (other than jeans). But I’m trying to thin down my wardrobe so I have fewer more well-made items to choose from. Which is hard because most days I just want to wear yoga pants anyways. I’m a work in progress 🙂

Sorry, I meant to reply to this comment and started a new thread. As I mentioned above, I try to avoid overspending on clothes too and just use CoutureSqd. Not a huge dent in my pocket, I get the variety, and don’t have to worry about wardrobe size.

I got my first StitchFix a month ago, and I wasn’t impressed. Hoping giving the detailed feedback will give me a better box this next time. Love the blue top you kept!

Fan of blue? 🙂 I recommend using CoutureSqd to avoid spending a lot on clothes. It’s a rental program at $35/month, and you get a stylist who sends you 4 pieces of clothing. The entire box is worth $200-250, which is a good deal for me. I’ve gotten some very nice things from them that I never would have splurged on. Anyway, thanks for the post!
