My Favorite Christmas Recipes

I’ve been coughing so much this week that my ribs are bruised (though hopefully not cracked).  My head is swimming in a fog of cold medicine, and you really don’t want to see what I look like right now.

But I desperately want to get into the holiday cheer mode, so I thought I would put together a list of my favorite Christmas things from blog posts past.

Caprese Skewers are perfect for a festive party appetizer.

For your baking pleasure, I have our family recipe for Cranberry bread, and my favorite cookies ever – Pecan Dreams.  This year I’m determined to finally get some decent photos of both recipes.

To make your home smell nice, you can whip up a pot of these Holiday Simmering Spices.  Also makes a quick and easy Christmas gift!

For the chocolate lovers, there is my Peppermint Walnut Fudge.  Seriously so good.  (Gluten and dairy-free for those who need it.)

And because we should try to eat some real food amidst all of the sweets, there is Meyer Lemon Slow Cooker Chicken with Sweet Potatoes with a side of Beet Salad with Tangerine Vinaigrette.  Both recipes are bursting with the flavor of in-season produce.

Hack Hack Hack.  Ho Ho Ho!  I hope you all are feeling better than I am!

I love the idea for the simmering spices and will TOTALLY have this brewing all weekend long:-) The cold fall/winter air has been so dry (and we’ve all been sick too) that my poor little girl has gotten night time bloody noses on more than one occasion. Not only will the simmering spices make the house smell festive, it will add some much needed moisture to the air (in addition to the requisite bedroom humidifiers!) Feel better!

Hi 🙂 Have you tried making the cranberry bread using gf flour mix? It looks yummy but I’m gluten intolerant. I would love to make it. Thanks!

Yes! We made it last year with all-purpose GF flour and it was great (although GF flour doesn’t brown quite as well as regular flour).
