Pure. Joy.

My grandma has been visiting from Kansas City for the past month.  Before she goes home on Wednesday, I wanted to get a few photos of her with the kids.  I promised her that our photography session would be free of posed shots and fake smiles.  I just wanted to capture a few candid moments between the kids and their great-grandma.

We headed to the park for a little chat, then we headed over to the swings.

As Joe and Leila swung their legs and twisted through the air, my grandma spoke up.  “It must have been at least 50 years since I sat on a swing.  I want to do it too!”

Are you sure, Grandma?

“Yes!  Get me on a swing.”

She sat down, put her feet on the ground, pushed back, and then…

And then my heart exploded.
