As moms, we can be hard on ourselves, can’t we? Just think of the last time you referred to yourself as not enough. Not skinny enough, not tough enough, not _____ enough. (Fill in the blank.)
So when we decide to take our health in our hands, to lose the baby weight, to get strong, to fix a diastasis, the last thing we need is a trainer who makes us feel less than enough. We need someone who understands. Someone who gets it. Someone who will cheer us on and tell us we are doing a good job.
Because dang it, this motherhood job is hard.
This is what I love about Wendy Powell, creator of MuTu System. Not only does she know the best diastasis recti exercises (and boy does she know her stuff), but she injects compassion and encouragement into every word and every workout.
While she pushes us to give our all, she reminds us that we are beautiful, we are strong, we can do hard things. And at the end of the day, not one of us will be perfect. But we will be healthier, stronger, more confident moms, and that is worth working for.
Last weekend, I finally got to meet Wendy in person at a live MuTuVation event in Los Angeles. We spent a beautiful day learning and asking questions. I left feeling inspired (and sore from a fabulous new workout Wendy will be offering soon).
I also had Wendy check my diastasis, and while it is almost two fingers wide (Wendy has tiny fingers), the connective tissue underneath is tight, making the gap very shallow and strong. These diastasis recti exercises are working!
A couple years ago I interviewed all the diastasis experts to find the one we can trust. And let me tell you, I made the right decision. I hope you give Wendy and the MuTu System a chance to work for you.
