Hey Y’all, I’m Back

I’ve been doing this blogging thing for seven years now. In that time, Inspired RD has grown and evolved, shrunk and shifted. And in seven years, everything about blogging has changed.

At first, I tried to keep up with the trends. Better photos! SEO! Find your niche!

It was exhausting.

I gave myself a break, saying no to writing assignments and stepping back from everything for a while. And then a few months ago, I dipped my toe back in the water. Instantly I was flooded with new tactics, how to clean up your Pinterest boards, how to launch a webinar, how to make billions of dollars by using only white backgrounds on Instagram.

Nope.

And what I’ve realized is this: I’m not a brand. I’m just a person. And the reason I blog or post on social media has always been the same – to share inspiration, bits of life, food and stories.

I’m never going to be a brand. I’m never going to have the perfect aesthetic. And you know what? I’m ok with that.

So here’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to get back to basics. Blogging when I have something worthwhile to say. Instagramming imperfect photos. Sharing things that make you laugh or think or act.

It won’t be groundbreaking or life-changing. It’ll just be…me.

Hey y’all*, I’m back.

*I’m allowed to say y’all now, I have a Texas drivers license.

Excellent article.Trying to learn SEO, Google Analytics and all the tech stuff is almost panic inducing. I’ve gone back to substitute teaching and so my blogging has lagged. It will be there when I get back to it. Be you. Nourish your soul. Love others extravagantly.

Blogging because you want to is fun. Blogging as a brand is work. Glad YOU are back.

I’ve been re-evaluating as well. Been pondering the same issues with myself, my biz/ my blog, etc. Love that you are going back to basics.

Perfect picture to end this post with! I started blogging just to provide resources for my clients and then it grew to add stress. Who has time for that? I love your honesty and authenticity and it definitely inspires other bloggers to just chill out and do what we love šŸ™‚
