Our garden is really taking off! I am constantly amazed at how fast things grow. Check out these Costa Rican Red Sweet Peppers:
Now we just have to wait for them to turn red so we can eat them!
Our cucumber plant has been busy growing as well.
On July 12th, you can see it starting to crawl out of the garden,
and the little cucumbers are starting to grow.
On July 20th, we found this little guy, not quite ready to be picked.
Monday, we went on a cucumber hunt. Look how far the plant has stretched out of the garden.
Our hunter looks high and low…
until he spots something.
Look Mom! A big one!
We picked the largest cucumber on the vine. Joe was so excited to try it. Once again, this child can’t wait to taste something from our garden because we grew it ourselves. The same item from the grocery store would cause him to turn up his nose.
Instead, he examines the bump on the skin of the cucumber,
and asks for a bite.
I actually took these pics yesterday after we picked the other cucumber. The kiddos loved it!
While in the garden, we also spotted a Bush Star Melon that had been hiding behind some leaves. This is our first melon, and we can’t wait to try it.
Before returning inside, Joe picks a fresh basil leaf for each of us.
Leila gets her first taste.
We are loving our little garden! Do you have a garden? If so, what do you grow?
