Today we picked our first clementine from the tree. Four years ago, when our dog Hobbs was a puppy, he chewed the tree down to a nub. I didn’t think we would ever see a clementine.
But here it stands, our beautiful tree bursting with fruit.
When we couldn’t stand it any longer, we picked one. Joe peeled it very carefully.
Leila looked on in gleeful anticipation.
Joe was so excited that he took a quick bite before I gently suggested that we break it up into sections so that we could all have a taste.
Finally a taste.
And then it was over.
Until we pick the next one.
