My Bountiful Basket was overflowing this week! I chose the organic option ($25), the Mexican add-on pack ($6.50) and the tortilla add-on pack ($10). Here is what I got:
Organic:
-1 bunch carrots
-1 bag romaine hearts
-3 large cucumbers
-1 bunch celery
-2 bunches cilantro
-1 package green onions
-1 large tomato
-1 bunch kale
-7 avocados
-5 apples
-9 bananas
-7 peaches
Mexican add-on pack:
-4 avocados
-1 bunch cilantro
-2 bunches green onions
-2 grey squash
-1 yellow onion
-10 tomatillos
-6 jalapenos
-6 limes
Tortilla add-on pack:
-3 packages large flour
-2 packages small flour
-2 packages corn
So as you can probably guess, we will be eating a lot of Mexican-themed meals this week! I already made fajitas with roasted tomatillo guacamole. I will post that recipe later so you can try it too.
I also want to try making the Kale Chips that everyone seems to be talking about on food blogs these days. I found the recipe on Tess Challis’ blog Radiant Health Inner Wealth.
Joe was very excited about the organic carrots. He has been eating them up!
This week was awesome, wasn't it?
If you follow Bountiful Baskets on facebook, they sometimes post recipes for the week based on what was given out in the baskets!
That is the exact same thing I ordered this week. But, I see spinach! I dodnt get any spinach. And I got 2 things of celery. And I only got 4 peaches. But the one beautiful heirloom tomato made it all worth it!
Becca, I will have to check for recipes on FB. Thanks!
Megan, I forgot to add that I got spinach because my friend who picked up the basket for me had volunteered that day and got some extras for helping out. So she gave me some of the spinach.
