This week’s Bountiful Basket haul included some fun fall add-ons. With our family still in California, these photos were taken by my parents (who you might know if you pick up your basket at the Clements Center). I will be back next weekend though, so I am excited to be able to place an order this week!
The $16.50 conventional basket:
-6 oranges
-8 gala apples
-9 bananas
-3 pomegranates
-1 bag green grapes
-1 cantaloupe
-4 tomatoes
-1 head romaine lettuce
-2 bags carrots (1 lb. bags)
-1 head broccoli
-2 grey squash
-3 cucumbers (+2 extra for volunteering)
-2 bunches large green onions (+2 extra for volunteering)
It pays to be a volunteer!
One of the fun add-ons this week was a set of four pumpkins for $6.50. If you ordered pumpkins, here are a few ideas to get you started (via Mom & Dad).
Another fun fall add-on was a 24 lb. box of pomegranates for $18.50.
Visit the California Pomegranates website for recipe ideas and instructions on how to get to the beautiful seeds inside.
As always, please share your recipe plans for the week in the comment section below. Have a wonderful week!
Pumpkin butter sounds interesting! I may try that since you suggested it in oatmeal, which sounds absolutely delicious! But the main pumpkin recipe will be homemade pumpkin pie filling frozen in preparation for Thanksgiving. Because after all I am such a planner!
Looks yummy! Thanks for the recipe tips.
