Because of Jeff’s new job, we have been meeting with realtors as we attempt to figure out our housing situation. One of their suggestions was to “de-personalize” our house by removing family photos. Our favorite photos were arranged on the biggest wall in the living room. I didn’t want to take them down and have a giant blank wall staring at us. So I decided to make a cheery Christmas wall instead.
I took shiny cardstock, chipboard letters and snowflake stickers and placed them on top of the photo in each frame. In some, I spelled out Christmas words like joy, bright, love, and noel.
In others, I put a mix of 3-D snowflake stickers.
I am pleased with the result. It is simple but festive for the season.
Now what am I going to do with those frames after Christmas????
Great idea. after the holidays find a theme in the papercrafting/scapbooking section and combine patterned paper with more 3d words and stickers for a season neutral not personal results. Things like love laugh joy health family etc carry over to all seasons. and if you keep colors neutral should be interesting but not overwhelming. nice thing you can stash the holiday inserts away for next year in any home.
I love it! You are so amazingly creative and after Christmas, there is always a Valentines theme you could do 🙂 ….love it!
