Last week we headed to California to celebrate a family wedding. While there, I took time to slow down and reflect on some things.
I have been feeling overwhelmed lately with work commitments, kids who are growing up too quickly, and my recent health issues.
It was nice to relax.
It felt good to unplug.
I feel a tugging of sorts that I am supposed to unplug for a short time to make sure that I am going in the direction that I’m supposed to be going with all of this. Β Blogging. Social media. Commitments. Priorities. Β I want to be sure that my heart is in the right place, both for my sake and for yours.
I hope you will stick around.
I know that a little time away will recharge my soul and make room for even more inspiration.
Thank you for letting me share pieces of my life with you. Β I am grateful for each and every one of you.
I’ll leave you with a couple of small teasers before I go…
Look forward to hearing more about these things below when I get back.
Until then, all the best.
Alysa
I will be hanging around for the next few days if you want to chat, official unplugging begins on Monday. Β
Good for you. I think about you often, and hope that you can connect with your family π
Don’t stay away too long!
Thanks Becca! I won’t be gone for TOO long π
I hope that you take enough time to fully reflect and do what you need to do. Sometimes I get wrapped in the “I have to’s” the I put on myself and need to step back in order to figure out what’s important – for my family and myself.
I wish you well. We’re here for you – now, tomorrow and when you’re ready.
Thank you Gina, I appreciate your support. One of the reasons that I know I am supposed to be in social media for sure is the opportunity I’ve had to meet people like you π
Enjoy your time…rejuvinate and come back refreshed π
Thank you Tonya, I will!
I used to sign off all my social media accounts on Friday night with a sleep tight, see you Monday. That way I knew I could be a nice mummy, slow down, take time to cook with care, breath and switch off. But there are just so many good things to share on the weekend! We all struggle with the juggle, but I’m all for a break to revive. You don’t want to end up like a local blogger here who’s family and friends staged a blog takeover and prevented her checking in for a whole week! Good luck. Emma
Oh my goodness, I would hate to get that bad! Thanks for the comment Emma π
We all need to do this! I hope that you gain perspective, feel refreshed, and get rejuvenated on your break. Also, thankfulness is something I’ve been thinking of too. Even when I am stressed or overwhelmed, there are ALWAYS things to be thankful for… but sometimes I lose sight of that and just fixate on circumstances. Thanks for the reminder.
Blessings,
Janet
Thank you Janet, I appreciate you π
You can recharge your batteries while being unplugged. Did you hear that the energizer bunny was arrested? For battery!
Ha!
Have fun unplugging. I’m planning on doing a brief unplug when the campaign is over. Looks like a beautiful wedding too. I love watching the progression of your photography with your new camera.
Thanks Kelly. I am sure you will need a short unplug session when the campaign is over. I appreciate your kind words about my photography π
Great idea, Alysa! I pray you gain strength, perspective, and much rest!
Thank you Angel!
Well, I can totally understand…but…I just got around to finding your blog! today! oh, well….very nice blog, and I shall get a chance to peruse your past posts then! We met at your nutrition session at the Lost Canyon resort women’s retreat ( I am from Mission.) and I really enjoyed your session. I am an RD student, just starting at CGCC. Praying you find the peace you and your family need in your time off, and I hope you will be back soon! Blessings!
Thanks Angelique! I look forward to getting a new batch of inspiration on my break. In the meantime, please peruse the archives. Lots of stuff from the past 2 years!
Hugs enjoys !!!!
I hope you enjoy a well deserved break! Life can be so crazy, and for me family and health always come first, that sometimes other things need to be put on the back burner for awhile. Take a deep breath and enjoy some time recharging π
Enjoy your break! Look forward to see what you have to share next π
