Yesterday I put down my iPhone, shut down the computer and held my family close. It happened to be our final day of visiting friends and family in Colorado, so we spent time taking in the cold beautiful scenery, sharing a delicious gluten-free meal, and ooh-ing and aah-ing over Christmas lights.
We were also blessed to spend a little more time with Jeff’s grandparents. Nannie, who reminds me that there is always beauty in this world if I would only take the time to look for it. And Papa who shows me what it truly means to walk humbly and serve others.
We will continue to lift up the Newtown families in prayer as we return home and throw ourselves back into fundraising efforts for Advent Conspiracy. As our hearts break for the precious lives lost, we have an even greater sense of urgency to save these children in Malawi who are desperate for food and clean water.
Joe and Leila will be setting up another coffee and hot cocoa stand this week. Please stop by if you are in the Gilbert area! They are also accepting donations via PayPal if you would like to buy a “virtual cup of coffee”. Leave a comment if you would like more information.
Would love to know when and where in Gilbert…I live here and would love to come buy a cup of coffee and have my kids see what yours are doing.
Thanks Leda! I’ll email you when we set the date/time/place.
Probably this Thursday morning (12/20) from 7-10 am…ish. We’re just east of Higley/Ray.
I’m in Chandler for a couple days – if I get time I would really like to come! Can you also email me where I might find you guys? 🙂
Thanks Christy, I will email you!
We would love to come and support Joe and Leila’s efforts for Advent Conspiracy! We are at Higley and Williams and will try and come by on our way to school! Can you email me details? Thanks!
