It’s week two of Project Simplify and time to tackle that pesky closet! I don’t know if you remember, but last year I organized my craft closet, giving it a makeover with storage items from the thrift store. While I’ve done a pretty good job at keeping things in their place, I haven’t done very well at finding the right spot for anything new. Hence, a bit of a mess. (Excuse the shadowy pictures, not much natural light gets in here).
I took a look at the photo from my original closet redo and tried to recreate it while making room for the new stuff. I also took the time to tidy up the fabric bins and remove anything that didn’t belong in the closet (ie. shirts that need ironing).
It’s still pretty packed in there, but everything has it’s place, and I know where to find it. And with a smaller home, that’s pretty much all I can ask for. Plus, the fact that I get an entire closet for my crafting supplies? Awesome. (Thanks, Family).
I should probably do a little more purging, but it’s hard to know what to get rid of. If you need some crafting supplies, come on over!
Just a tip I used to clean out my craft closet (’cause I couldn’t just get rid of useable craft supplies!)- when my son was in preschool and kindergarten, I let his teachers know that I was trying to purge my craft closet a bit. If they had a specific wish list, they would let me know and I would see if I could help out from my extra supplies. I would also occasionally bring in a box of stuff I thought might be useful to teachers and put it in their lounge- it ALWAYS got snapped up right away. Have fun with the organizing!
Great idea, thanks Emily!
