I’m keeping my confessions short and sweet this week. Here they are:
– My kitchen floor is dirty. And I’m not going to mop it.
– My laundry is piled high. And I’m not going to wash it.
– My kids are quietly reading. And I’m going to take a nap.
Your turn, leave your short and sweet confessions below. Give us a glimpse into your real life. Because life isn’t perfect, and neither are we.
A few days ago, my sweet, precious, heavenly-minded preschooler announced from the back seat that one of the good things about heaven was that “they don’t have computers.” When I agreed that no, I didn’t think computers were needed in heaven, she happily concluded, “Good. Then you can be fun again in heaven.” Ouch!
Ouch indeed! Thanks for sharing (makes me feel more normal).
I didn’t finish the ironing today. I didn’t vacuum the floor. I took a bath at 4.30pm when I should have been doing the previous. I didn’t wash the dishes this evening before heading to bed!
Ironing? What is that? 🙂
Even though I have fresh groceries in my fridge, I was worn out after dealing with a two hour work drama that I stopped for a sandwich on my way home instead of making dinner.
Every night I go to bed with a promise to stay off electronics until after devotions and a workout… Every morning I wake up and get online to see what happened while I slept. 🙁
Oh girl, I hear ya on that one.
Guess who got up, exercised, did devotions, and got ready for the day all before getting online? 1 day down. How many until its habit? Wink.
Woohoo! Every journey begins with a single step. 🙂
I don’t change our sheets nearly as often as I should (my son has a high loft bed and it is the worst kind of workout to do anything up there- hate it!).
Raising my hand with you, Emily! 🙂
As a new RD, I am inspired by this series and your blog. I love how you not only touch on nutrition, but also faith and family. All of these topics interact with each other SO much and need to be addressed!
Thank you Laura, it means so much to hear you say that!
In the almost 2 weeks since the husband has been gone for work, I have slacked completely on meal planning and have made very few homemade, “real” meals. Being a man down and in a the midst of one of my worst RA flares, I have just been too wiped out to even care! Oh, and did I mention that my vacuum cleaner has been sitting in the same exact spot for two weeks (Yes, TWO weeks), with no immediate plans on using it????
I hear you Rachel, I am the worst at making real meals during baseball season, especially when I’m not feeling well. So sorry you are in a bad flare right now. And who needs vacuumed floors anyways? 😉
