It’s Friday! Which means two days of NO driving to school and picking up from school and dropping the other kid off at school then picking the other kid up at school then running errands then driving home.
Phew! Are you in the car all week too? If so, here’s a quick tip to help you work on your posture as you’re driving the kids all around the gall darn town.
Step 1: Sit in the driver’s seat of your car. Sit up straight and tall. Pull your shoulder blades down and back and make sure your head is centered over your body (not out in front).
Step 2: Take a deep breath and pull your bellybutton in tight as you exhale (for more instruction on how to do this, click here).
Step 3: While you’re in this beautiful posture position, adjust your seat and mirrors.
Step 4: Check your posture as you drive. If you can see out of the mirrors, your posture is good and you are actively working your core muscles. If you can’t see out of the mirrors correctly, you know you’re back to slumping in your seat.
Not only can this quick tip improve your posture, it can also lead to decreased headaches* and a flatter tummy.
Try it for a week and let me know how it goes!

What a great idea-adjusting your mirrors while in good posture! I don’t drive a ton, but I find myself tense and crunched-up on the way home from work, so I’m definitely going to give this a go! Thanks!
