Lauren from Foodtrainers wrote a special post today for her husband listing her definitions of love. Her post inspired me to make my own list of thank-yous to my husband of nine years. In nine years, we have never made a big deal out of Valentine’s Day, in part because February 14th is usually the early report date for pitchers and catchers, but mostly because we don’t like to get caught up in the cheesiness of it all. Today however, I am going to be a little bit cheesy and share with you what I love about my main squeeze.
Jeff, don’t blush too much!
Thank you for:
-letting me make a mess of the kitchen night after night
-cleaning up my kitchen mess with a smile on your face
-being my taste-tester and giving me honest feedback
-learning to read food labels (even if you forget to do it until you bring the product home)
-taking photos of produce for my blog when I’m out of town
-telling everyone you meet about the difference between a dietitian and nutritionist
-trying to convince your friends that they would love roasted cauliflower if they tasted mine
-always pursuing your passions and encouraging me to pursue mine
-being an attentive husband and father and leading our family
-making me laugh
-teaching me how to lighten up and be silly
-making life an adventure
-showing me abundant love every day, not just on February 14th
Thank you. Happy Cheesy Day 🙂
I love that he wants to learn and grow with me. He is the ultimate midwest meat and potato guy and after watching Food,Inc… he started reading labels and researching more about food and food companies.
That's cute! I hate the cheesy-ness of the day too! I love that he encourages me in my health pursuits, and is up for trying new foods and activities! And I love that no matter how grumpy, frustrated, angry, or (dare I say it…) snippy I can be, he's still there loving me!
I love that he is supportive and loves my craziness! Happy Valentines Day!
Alissa, that is so great that he is willing to expand his food knowledge and tastebuds!
Counselor, I am thankful too that my husband puts up with my grumpy days 🙂
Tracy, I am sure your "craziness" is a big reason why he loves you in the first place 🙂
Such a lovely ode to your husband… I couldn't agree with the first two on the list. I'm so thankful that my husband puts up with that.
Awh 🙂
My favorite thing about my husband? Hmmm…just one?
That he looks over my less than stellar housekeeping abilities 🙂
I love this. What an adorable post. And your photos are even cuter. Hope you had a nice Valentine's Day 🙂
Thanks for the comment Brian! I love your blog!
Becca, that's a good one 🙂
Thanks Trish!
