Chicago Food & Fun

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to get away for a girls weekend in Chicago.  We went for three days with no plan and ended up eating our way from Michigan Avenue to Rush Street to Old Town.  Here are some of the highlights:

The legendary Billy Goat Tavern located under Michigan Avenue.
I had a single with cheese. Delicious!
Old Town
You only have to walk by to smell the goodness coming from The Spice House.  I bought some ratatouille seasoning for myself and Habanero Salt for my dad.  You can also order from them online.
Random sign we saw while walking through Old Town.  Very welcoming!
Guacamole made right at our table at Adobo.
Fresh and delicious!
My favorite food stop-The Purple Pig.  We sat for almost 3 hours enjoying the cheese and tapas.
I highly recommend this place!

Giant caprese salad at The Rosebud.
We had to have pizza at the famous Gino’s East Pizzeria.
The deep-dish pizza takes 45 minutes to bake, but it’s worth it.
Take a look around while waiting for your food, and write on the walls if you want to!
John Hancock Building from Michigan Avenue
96 floors up.

The best views are from the restroom!
View from the bottom as the sun was going down.
Our last stop was at PJ Clarke’s.  We shared a round of mini-cheeseburgers.  They were outstanding!
So there you have it.  Girls weekend Chicago-style.  Can you tell I was excited about the food?

Gino's East is my favorite! Chicago has such fantastic food. On your next trip, you'll have to take a trip to Portillo's for Chicago style hot dogs. šŸ™‚
