Last week I shared with you the beginning of my gardening adventure. I am happy to report that so far everything is still alive! Feeling successful, I decided to plant a few more things:
-3 strawberry plants (Joe was adamant about growing strawberries. He can’t wait to pick and eat them.)
-Bush Star Melon (good for small gardens, produces 2 lb. cantaloupe-type melons)
-Royal Burgundy Bean (beautiful purple bean, apparently turns green when cooked)
-Serrano Pepper (hotter than a jalapeno, great in salsa or roasted in Mexican dishes)
-Peppi Cucumber (smaller cucumbers, good for small gardens)
-Costa Rican Sweet Red Pepper (supposed to have even more flavor than a red bell pepper)
-Basil (I decided that one basil plant was not enough)
Two things to notice in the above photos:
1. Joe’s feet are covered in dirt. You would think he was playing in the sand or something.
2. Did you see my fancy digging tool? It’s a barbeque fork. Works great.
Later this week, I will tell you about our first “taste” from our garden. It was amazing!
yumm…
So impressed!
Someday we hope to start a garden too… š

You should Stephanie! It is easy to build one and the kids love it!
