Top 9 Quotes from Blissdom

Sitting here thumbing through my notes from Blissdom, I can’t help feeling a little inspired and a lot challenged.  I’ll be sharing some of what I learned later in the week, but as a sneak peek I decided to pull out nine of my favorite quotes from the weekend.  Here they are:

1. You can’t be all things to all people. (Lisa Leonard)

2. If you can’t get up half an hour early for your dream, you don’t have the right dream. (Jon Acuff)

3. If you want support for your dream, support someone else’s dream first. (Jon Acuff)

4. The best time to blog is when you have something to say. (Scott Stratten)

5. Regret wants you to give more of your present to your past so you don’t have a future. (Jon Acuff)

6. Just because it happened, doesn’t make it interesting. (Jeff Goins)

7. If you’re only awesome to influencers, you’re not actually awesome. (Scott Stratten)

8. Never compare your beginning to someone else’s middle. (Jon Acuff)

9. Fear only gets loud when you do things that matter. (Jon Acuff)

Thanks for sharing these quotes – they were the perfect source of motivation for a Monday morning. I especially like the 2nd one. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about some career decisions and I think if I can remember this one, it’d help me figure out a bit easier what paths to take.

WOW. These are really good quotes. Thanks for sharing!

I like them all but I think the one that struck me the most was “Never compare your beginning to someone else’s middle.” As a current dietetic intern, I can appreciate the wisdom of this. As I step through the threshold of my “beginning,” it is easy to compare myself to others who are somewhere in their “middle!”
I have also appreciated these other quotes that friends have shared with me.

“Comparison is the thief of joy” ~ Theodore Roosevelt
“Be kind to beginners of today, they may be the experts of tomorrow.” ~Unknown

Thank you for sharing these quotes, I’m really enjoying the “virtual experience” of Blissdom through the “actual experience” of those who are sharing pictures and posts. I’ve never been to a blog conference but it’s something on my radar for the future. These are great quotes for blogging *AND* life in general. Blessings + Hugs,
    Nicole
