I’ve been blogging for four years now. In that time, this blog has changed quite a bit. I’ve gone through seasons when I have so much to share that I’m tempted to post twice a day. And other seasons when I’m ready to close the computer and never look back.
People ask me all the time what my end goal is with all of this. Honestly, I still don’t know. Maybe there isn’t one. I don’t have grand plans to write a book or become a media mogul. I definitely don’t have ambitions to speak on a big stage (cue hyperventilation). And I think that’s ok. Honestly, I just like to share things that inspire me, and for now, even four years later, that’s enough.
JJ Heller’s writing and music inspires me, so I share it.
Fixing a problem most moms struggle with inspires me, so I share it.
Photography inspires me, so I share it.
Responsible social justice inspires me, so I share it.
Putting healthy food on the table for my family inspires me, so I share it.
I share it in the hopes that something will spark inspiration in you. (And what fun is it to keep awesome stuff to yourself?)

So I’ve decided to let myself off the hook when it comes to the “hustle” part of blogging and social media. I’ll post when I have something good to share, and spend more time doing the things that bring inspiration in the first place (the actual living of life). I have some good stuff planned for Celiac Awareness Month in May, but after that we will be driving up to Montana for a summer of baseball and fly fishing. You might see a fewย or a thousand photos of trees and rivers and all the things we don’t have here in Phoenix. (I’m always on Instagram if you need me.)
You might also see some changes to the blog, including a new cover page, and possibly some rebranding. If you don’t see anything posted on the front end, I’m either tinkering with the back end or off doing something important like reading a good book or playing soccer with the kids.
And maybe someday I’ll find something worth hustling for. But not today. And that’s ok.
Love this. So much.
Thanks Jenna.
Love this! I feel you. Trying to move in this direction, too.
Thanks Kristen. It’s such a struggle for me. I’m hoping by making a public declaration, I will give myself permission to truly slow down a little. We’ll see…
Love this Alysa, <3
Thanks McKel!
Just so much love for this post sweetheart!
Thanks Heather ๐
Alysa, I’ve only been reading your blog for one year but am truly inspired by each of your posts. Thanks for continuing to be an inspiration to all of us, no matter how often you post or what subject you are blogging on. It’s all good ๐
Thank you for your encouragement and grace, Shannon. I appreciate it very much.
Anytime you share yourself, we appreciate it. You are always doing so many wonderful things for others and you should take time for you, too!. (I may not always comment, but I am often reading what you say and I love your photography. I enjoy photography too, BTW .:) )
I have recently made a big change too. After 3 years,I am not moderating the board on celiac.com anymore. It was a lot of work and while I love helping people, I also need to enjoy my renewed good health and focus on other things that give me joy. I felt guilty at first, but my husband, my friend GD and others who know me well said it was definitely a good time for me to move on. I think we all need to spend time with our loved ones and friends, enjoy the seasons, walk on the beach. There’s always time for sharing and always time for educating and helping in the celiac community and everywhere else we choose to advocate, but we also need to nurture ourselves, too. My point is….do it! Go, enjoy!
Your readership will always be here.
Hugs to you,
Ginny aka Irish ๐
