We’re halfway through February, so I thought it would be a good time to see how I’m doing on my 2015 goals. I would love to hear how you’re doing with yours too.
Any goal worth working towards requires periodic reevaluation. What am I doing well? What am I completely avoiding? Where can I improve? Here’s where I stand so far this year.
1. Pare down my wardrobe. Last week I hauled three trash bags full of clothes and shoes out of my closet. I also turned all of my hangers around backwards so I can see what I actually wear (I turn the hanger around when I wear an item. Any hangers left backwards at the end of the year show me clothes I need to let go of.) I’m not quite down to a capsule wardrobe yet, but I’m getting closer. The blog un-fancy is inspiring me as I go.
2. Read at least 50 books. I’m on book number 10 already, so I think this goal will be easy to hit. You can see what I’m reading on my What I’m Reading Now monthly posts.
3. Find a weekly cleaning schedule and follow it. Ahem. Nope. Haven’t even tried this yet. But I did clean out the cabinet under my bathroom sink, so that’s something.
4. Workout 5 days/week. I had surgery on January 21st, and I’m not allowed to exercise for 6 weeks. Honestly such a bummer, but I’ll get back to this goal on March 4th if the doctor gives me the all-clear.
5. Fill a blank journal. I bought a blank journal. Does that count? Ok, maybe not so much. Now that I’m not bogged down with pain meds, I’m planning to get up earlier in the morning to write my first thoughts. Someone needs to ask me how this is going in a few weeks. Accountability needed here.
So that’s it so far. How are your goals coming?
Alyssa-
I think for being only part-way through February, you’re knocking those goals out! I started a new cleaning schedule this week. It is part of a free daily planner by Susan Heid from TheConfidentMom. Here is the link: http://www.theconfidentmom.com/your-2015-confident-mom-weekly-household-planner/
It totally makes you remember to do things like water your plants (I’m terrible at that!), wash the cars, and clean your baseboards. So far I love it!
It totally takes the brainwork out of cleaning for me.
I hope you’re feeling better from your surgery. I love your blog, and have taken so much inspiration from it. Thank you for writing!
