3 Things I’m Loving Right Now

This past weekend, we drove to San Antonio to hang out with my cousin and his family. On our way there, we stopped in Waco to check out the Silos. You Fixer Upper fans know what I’m talking about. It was a little bit crowded, but definitely worth the stop, especially since I am now the proud owner of a #shiplap t-shirt.

While in Waco, we stopped for some Torchy’s Tacos, and ohmygoodnessrunthererightnow.

The tacos are incredible, and the staff at Torchy’s truly understands how to make safe gluten-free goodness for those of us who need it.

Speaking of goodness, I wanted to share a few things that our family is loving these days.

1. Cosmic Kids Yoga – A few weeks ago, I brought home a kids’ yoga DVD from the library. Leila and I tried it and had fun doing the moves and laughing when I fell over because I am not a limber child. The next day, she came in and asked if she could do her “workout” and has been wanting to do yoga every day since. Because I eventually had to take the DVD back to the library, I searched online for other kids’ yoga videos. That’s when I found Cosmic Kids Yoga, an entirely FREE series on YouTube. The videos are all around 15-20 minutes and take kids on adventures while building strength, balance and confidence.

Her favorite part is always the relaxation session at the end. I don’t blame her, that’s my favorite part of yoga too.

2. Klutz Lego Chain Reactions Kit – You know how your kids get Lego sets, put them together once, and then never want to play with them again? That’s why we love Klutz Lego kits. Using your own Legos, these kits teach you how to design and build moving machines (plus the physics behind why they work). Joe is getting a kick out of building the chain reactions, and his Legos are getting new life!

3. Fagor 3-in-1 Pressure Cooker – I used to be deathly afraid of pressure cookers, mostly because of an old family legend involving an explosion and beans on the ceiling. But thanks to modern technology, I can now confidently use a safe electric version of grandma’s death trap. I love this pressure cooker for a few reasons. First, if I forget to prep for dinner, the pressure cooker can literally cook a meal in 10 minutes. Second, it makes the BEST rice. And third, it doubles as a slow cooker, leaving me more room in my cabinet.

I’m experimenting with a Thai Chicken Soup in the pressure cooker tomorrow, so stay tuned…
