Interview with a Ballpark Celiac

Around here we live and breath minor league baseball.  Back in the old days, when Jeff was making his way through the White Sox farm system, I reveled in the adventure that took us from town to town, exploring minor league cities, tasting all of the unique ballpark food.  “Dragon Tails” in Charlotte (fried pickles), boiled peanuts in Mobile (yuck), and soft serve “Ice Dream” in Chattanooga (yum). Now that…

What I want you to know about Celiac Disease

What I want you to know about celiac disease

This is a very raw post about life with celiac disease that I wrote a couple months ago after being “glutened.” I was frustrated and sad, and this is what poured out. I haven’t posted it publicly before, but feel like today is a perfect day to do it because of the Disney and Chelsea Handler craziness of this week. A quick health update…

She explained that my celiac disease had pretty much resolved and that my gut looked healthy during my last scope.  She feels like the issues I’m currently experiencing might…

Searching for answers…

This week has been rough.  My brain has been so cloudy that I’ve struggled to have coherent conversations and to be fully present as a parent, wife and friend.  Having to work so hard at these things leaves me utterly exhausted.  Emotionally and mentally drained. I’m driving back up to the Mayo Clinic this morning for the follow up with my GI doctor. Still searching for answers… I’ll keep you…
