Thankful Thursdays: Week 21

I’m going to keep this short today because I’m getting ready to head out the door to do the thing I’m so thankful for – run.

I’ve had many setbacks in recent months when it comes to my health both with my hip and back injury, and with my continued progress in healing with celiac disease.

But as I am tempted to get frustrated with the hard days, I have to remind myself of just how far I’ve come.  The good days are outnumbering the bad, my body feels healthy more than it feels sick, and I finally get to run again.

Right now, my runs are limited to a 5.2 speed on the treadmill.  No faster, or my body starts to hurt.  No running outside because that’s too jarring.  But that’s ok.  At 5.2, my body settles in and I feel like I can run forever.  One of my runs last week was almost 40 minutes, and over 3.2 miles.  I’ll take it!

I’m so thankful…and now I’m off to run some more.
