Change of Perspective

I saw this quote on Twitter this morning by Mark Batterson, author of one of my favorite books In a Pit With a Lion On a Snowy Day. It made me stop and think, when was the last time I shifted my perspective?  When was the last time I stopped long enough to jump out of my busy mom shoes and walk a mile in someone else’s worn out, beat up, holey shoes?

My prayer today is for my eyes to be opened, that I would have courage to step out of my comfort zone, that I would see the world from a different perspective and in doing so would be able to judge less, love more, and live fully.

How can you change your perspective today?

P.P.S. Our family is thinking of creative ways to raise as much money as we can in the month of December for Advent Conspiracy.  All the money we raise will go to feed orphans and vulnerable children AND to provide a lifetime of clean drinking water for families in Chikudzulire, Malawi.   Find out more about Advent Conspiracy by clicking the photo below.

I’m pitching in by pledging all profits from my Etsy shop for the month of December to the advent fund.  Take a look around and use the code ADVENT for 20% off.  Help our family help cuties like these have food and water in 2013.

Nothing catching your eye?  You can donate directly to Advent Conspiracy here.

I heard Mark Batterson speak at Re:Write this past year! He has an entertaining, humble, and inspiring speaking style. Enjoyed his session thoroughly.

Have you read his most recent book – “The Circle Maker”? I highly recommend it.
