Overnight Oats in a Jar

You know when you get to the end of your peanut butter but there’s still a light coating on the sides and bottom?  Don’t throw the jar away.  Make overnight oats in it!
You recently read about my love for overnight oats.  Well, eating it out of a peanut butter jar might be even better.  Especially during the summer months because it is eaten cold.  But most importantly because with every bite, you scrape a bit of peanut butter from the side of the jar.  Peanut butter!  Yay!

Overnight oats in a jar are easy enough to make.  Just follow the same basic recipe, but make it in a peanut butter jar that is almost empty.  I also added about Ā½ cup of greek yogurt to mine for a twist.
In the morning, I added some sliced banana and Uncle Sam cereal for some crunch.

This also makes a perfect grab-n-go breakfast.
Now I can’t wait until we run out of peanut butter.  More overnight oats in a jar!
Do you have a favorite grab-n-go breakfast?

I can not wait to make this for my hubby, this is a fantastic idea:-) You definitely have a new follower, what a beautiful blog:-) My grab and go breakfast usually is an oatmeal bar that is homemade, or store bought.

That does sound yummy! I always have to do warm oats for my OIAJ though. I like to get the pb all melted so I can scoop it ALL clean.

I have not tried overnight oats YET, but you have definitely inspired me to try it SOON šŸ™‚

That's a great idea! I never would have thought of soaking them in a leftover butter jar overnight. I'm getting a bit tired of the same ol' oats, I'll try it in our almond butter jar as soon as it's empty (which is soon!).

Jayma, never throw away a nut butter jar again! šŸ™‚

Tina, I am sure it's so good with the PB all melty like that. Yum!

Angela, I wish I could say I was the first person to come up with this idea. Not my brilliance though šŸ™‚

EA, glad I could inspire you šŸ™‚

Seasonal Family, thanks for stopping by! I'm sure this would be delish with almond butter. Hope you like it!

tina: I'd be worried about microwaving a pb jar for warm oats – what method do you use? I have PB in both glass and plastic jars…
